The main ones are:
NBR
It is used in various sectors such as the chemical, oil, automotive, construction and food industries.
EPDM
It is mainly used in construction, motoring, waterproofing and household appliances.
FKM (VITON)
It performs up to 10 times better than rubbers such as NBR rubber. Exceptional resistance to high temperatures
VMQ
This rubber is suitable where resistance to high or low temperatures is required. VMQ rubber is also odourless and stain-resistant.
CR
It resists weathering, ozone and flame very well due to the chlorine component. It has a medium resistance.
SBR
This elastomer is the most economical. It has good resistance to silicone oils, water and cold, but has little resistance to UV, oxygen and ozone.
HNBR
This rubber is derived from standard NBR on which a hydrogenation of the residual butadiene double bond is performed.
FFKM
Thanks to a very high chemical inertness, this compound withstands even the most aggressive environments with the presence of low molecular weight aldehydes and ketones.
FVQM
This compound is obtained by adding fluorine to the silicone, thus giving it good compatibility with aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatics, ozone, UV rays and mineral oils.
PARA RUBBER
This rubber also called natural rubber has limited resistance to ozone, weathering and ageing.
AEM
This acrylic compound has excellent oil resistance and good heat resistance at both low and high temperatures.
FOOD
Food gums are suitable for contact with food, beverages and alcoholic substances.
PU
This elastomer combines the elasticity of rubber with the characteristics of polyamide materials; it has a higher mechanical strength than traditional rubbers.
ACM
This particular rubber is commonly known as polyacrylic rubber.
CANVAS RUBBER
Rubber with textile inserts suitable for everyday use. It has no specific heat resistance characteristics.
FFKM
Thanks to a very high chemical inertness, this compound withstands even the most aggressive environments with the presence of low molecular weight aldehydes and ketones.
It has similar characteristics to PTFE by resisting even very high temperatures, but possesses the elasticity typical of FKM rubbers.
FVQM
This compound is obtained by adding fluorine to the silicone, which gives it good compatibility with aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, ozone, UV rays and mineral oils.
It also possesses a fair resistance to petrol.
It has generally similar mechanical properties to silicone, but the maximum temperatures at which it can be used are lower.
AEM
This compound is obtained by adding fluorine to the silicone, which gives it good compatibility with aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, ozone, UV rays and mineral oils.
It also possesses a fair resistance to petrol.
It has generally similar mechanical properties to silicone, but the maximum temperatures at which it can be used are lower.
ACM
This particular rubber is commonly known as polyacrylic rubber.
It has a high resistance to oils and can be used at higher temperatures than traditional rubbers, withstanding up to 180 C°.
On the other hand, they have low elasticity and mediocre mechanical properties.
PU (POLIURETANO)
This elastomer combines the elasticity of rubber with the characteristics of polyamide materials. It has a higher mechanical resistance than traditional rubbers. It has excellent resistance to abrasion, ageing, wear, elongation and tearing.
It is compatible with diesel, mineral oils and greases, ozone, oxygen, UV rays and atmospheric agents.
It is not resistant to high temperatures and the presence of acids, alkalis and water vapour.
PARA RUBBER
This rubber also called natural rubber has
- high tensile strength
- high elasticity and softness
- good resistance to low temperatures
- a good resistance to tearing and wear
a limited resistance to ozone, weathering and ageing.
FOOD
Food rubbers are suitable for contact with food, beverages and alcoholic substances.
To be defined as such, these rubbers need FDA certification that guarantees that they can be used with food substances.
Most of the rubbers listed above are eligible for this certification.
CANVAS RUBBER
Rubber with textile inserts suitable for everyday use, it has no specific heat resistance characteristics.
It has good resistance to atmospheric agents and ozone.
It is usually used as an industrial seal. It is frequently used for general purposes.
